Gen que. about being trans
Hello! I'll get straight to the point.., I've been wanting to get a binder for a while. I just feel a lot more comfortable being flat chested, and being identified as a male (born a female). But I'm still not sure if that's considered being trans. I've been nb for a while because I'm still trying to find exactly what I'm comfortable with being titled as.
But my main question is,
**Is it ok to get a binder and not be transgender**
again I'm still in the process if figuring out exactly what I identify myself as haha, but I'm getting there :')
I think being a trans does not only mean physically. I can wear binds too because I don't like it when it jiggles like jelly but that doesnt mean im trans. I think aside from physical characteristics Its also *more on* about what u think of ur self that includes ur preference and orientation. reply
absolutely. it's perfectly fine (and not in any way offensive). you don't have to be trans or use certain pronouns to wear a binder. it's your body, present it the way that makes you most comfortable!
just make sure you buy it, and not get it for free from an organization that supports trans people. that would be wrong if you don't consider yours...... reply
realistically speaking, if you ID with any gender that you weren't assigned at birth, then you're trans(gender). ofc i know that in enby groups, a lot of people aren't comfortable labeling themselves as trans, so realistically only you can definitively say whether you are or aren't. anyways, yeah if a binder makes you feel comfortable in your skin,...... reply
As someone who is nb too and assigned female at birth, I relate with you. I prefer being flat-chested and referred to as a man. It's completely normal to feel this way and you don't have to be transgender to wear a binder. So go for it and wear it proudly. reply
