A king is nothing without his people. What if murder is a sin because we are getting rid of his people? Same with suicide. If we were to all die off then who would be left for him? Who would be left to bask in his power aside from himself. They'd still be a God, don't get me wrong but what's a God without followers? What's a king without their people? I alternated between pronouns because God is said to be all and everything so I used different pronouns.
It's the religious institution, or rather the people at the top of it that "need followers", not whatever "god" or other conveniently absent being they purport to be speaking on behalf of.
And if we were to be so bold as to say the quiet part out loud, which we absolutely are, it's really their money and blind adherence that is so desperately "nee...... 1 reply
In my opinion, every god is a narc, if they loose followers, the only people to bask in their glory is themselves. So they keep us from dying, So they wont have to worship themselves. reply
Before I answer the question I noticed whenever people on this site talk about religion ya'll just say God. Can you specify which God you're talking about? So? what?? Are you saying God needs us because he gains power from his followers? But didn't God create us to begin with? (Note I don't believe in that I'm just rolling with it because I like theories ) So doesn't that mean he would have needed to get his powers from other things?
