I don't agree. Skinny shaming is as bad as fat shaming. I'm actually kind of offended because I've always struggled with this. My parents always tell me I'm too skinny so that hurt.   1 reply

As somebody who has gotten both fat-shamed and skinny-shamed over the years, they both suck. Sure, overweight people may have it harder, but that doesn't mean anybody should down-play underweight people's struggles either. They both get called insults, names, etc. They both get compliments. They both are living human beings that should be treated e......   reply

I think y'all misunderstanding that what op is saying, or maybe it's me. but i think op is saying skinny is praised more commonly than being fat is. Hence their examples of "skinny" being used as a compliment while "fat" is more often used to degrade someone. I do disagree that both are equally bad, but the words "fat" has a more negative connotati......   reply

Skinny shaming and fat shaming is not on the same level like u said Being skinny is considered beautiful and being fat is not.... There's always some sort of negativity surrounding being fat...ppl are only recently becoming a little more neutral and accepting of it whereas being skinny was never an issue unless of course you were considered too ski......   1 reply

I somewhat agree and disagree. I see what you mean by the inequality of how certain comments are perceived in the context of society’s standards. However, shaming is shaming. There is no contest on which is worse because shaming, regardless of which type, is done in the intent to humiliate and degrade. Fat shaming and skinny shaming both result i......   reply

Are you kidding me now? As someone who has bullied for being skinny, you're words are very insulting rn. There are many reasons as to why skinny shaming is just extremely wrong on equal levels with fat shaming. Have you heard of poverty? Malnutrition? Mental illnesses? Did you know why those models would want to become skinny? Because it's the norm......   1 reply

Have you ever met an anorexic person? A person with fast metabolism? Or even someone who has trouble eating food (not disabled wise)? Have you? The way they’re seen in society’s eyes may not be the same but those kinda words have the same effect. Both are offensive as shit and shouldn’t be uttered whatsoever. Nobody gives a fuck about wether ......   reply

Forget trying to please everyone, or conform to other peoples' standards. It's a waste of time & an injustice to you. People will always think what they want & judge as they wish, but nobody else has to validate it. Just eat & appear as you damn well please & to hell with whoever doesn't approve. OK, end of rant. :)   reply
