As somebody who has gotten both fat-shamed and skinny-shamed over the years, they both suck. Sure, overweight people may have it harder, but that doesn't mean anybody should down-play underweight people's struggles either. They both get called insults, names, etc. They both get compliments. I think y'all misunderstanding that what op is saying, or maybe it's me. but i think op is saying skinny is praised more commonly than being fat is. Hence their examples of "skinny" being used as a compliment while "fat" is more often used to degrade someone. Forget trying to please everyone, or conform to other peoples' standards. It's a waste of time & an injustice to you. People will always think what they want & judge as they wish, but nobody else has to validate it. Just eat & appear as you damn well please & to hell with whoever doesn't approve.
