Just tell your s/o as you wish. But do it when you are completely ready! Even mentally. So that just incase if things dont go as planned you dont blame yourself. Remember who are you and you are deserves to be loved:))

I think it's up to you if you want to tell him or anyone else so yes it's normal. If you trust him you would feel comfortable telling him though, even if you trust him it's still perfectly fine not to tell him reply
