there this one time where i came back home and my oldest sister saw that i wear a short pants and advice me that i should wear a long pants when i go outside and i asked her why should i wear long pants and she said "just to be careful, if one day you get rape you will regret that you didn't take my advice" my reaction to that is (⊙…⊙ )
i love how her first thought was "if you wear shorts, you'll get raped and it'll all be because you wore shorts" and not "we need to keep you safe by getting you some self defense items" what you wear isn't the issues, its that people can't keep their bodys to themselves. what a way to push the fault on the potential victim for wearing shorts. reply

I think your sister speaks from a place of concern, not to shame you. As you go through life you realise that most girls you get to know have a story to tell.
For sure a woman SHOULD be safe to wear what she chooses, but reality is most of us are a little cautious and for good reason.
