Why don't you want children?
For the people that don't want to have children, do you have a reason?
For me, I don't want children because I feel like I wouldn't be a good mom. Like I'm not trying to be negative or anything I just genuinely feel that my personality wouldn't be a good fit or like... I wouldn't be a good role model? I don't know the word. I just think that I don't have the ability to raise a child properly and that they wouldn't turn out the way I had hoped or would be a bad child or wouldn't have manners. I'm not saying I'm a bad person or would be a bad influence, I just don't know how to raise them. I also don't like when they are young because most children are bratty.
Also, other factors are the community and the environment. I personally believe that the future seems bleak and I don't want to raise a child that will have to live in poor conditions. People believe that we will live for a long long time but I believe we are going to run out of time soon. An example of this is the rapidly declining water and global warming. That stuff is happening a lot faster than most people think and it doesn't help with a climbing population. Then the community... well speaks for itself. I don't want them to be influenced by others and it seems like people get worse with every generation so I don't want them to end up bad.
I would like to have a child if these issues didn't exist, but chances are, I won't have a child. Oh, and also my main goal in life is to travel, so I would either have to give that up or save a TON of money, which would mean I wouldn't be able to go to all the countries I wanted to go to.
P.S. Do you guys think people truly consider their child's future? Like how I considered the community and environment, I feel like other people don't take that into consideration and have a child based on their own selfish needs which really irritates me when I think about it. I never had a mother's instinct like other girls around me had when we were still kids. People said I'll develop it later, but now I'm 21 and still nothing. I’m actually glad to see people who share the same view because I live in Asia and the tradition of having offsprings is even stronger so I can’t help but fear of disappointing people if I ever said I didn’t want babies. Foremost reason is I don’t think I can handle the huge responsibilities and sacrifices I have to carry, it takes away too...... 1 reply

i dont want a screamer or a bossy snotty nose brat disruptting my alone time with me and my cats, all kids are good for are chores is what my stepmom taught me. Also climate change and the fact i hate people. reply
1. I don't hate kids, but I don't think I'd be a good mom, either. My own mom wasn't that great and there's still a ton of stuff I'd have to unlearn in treating my own kids well and in being there for them.

It's not that I don't like kids. But just thinking that there's something alive in my stomach makes me cringe. They says that when a woman is pregnant, half of her foot is basically stepping on a mine. Like I felt as though a have a parasite inside my belly.
