If you find a cat walking around alone near a pet store, just take off the name tag. And call it a stray cat that you found in the streets when someone asks. Make sure to keep it and take care of it for atleast 3 weeks to lose suspicion when the person that you want to give the cat to, asks why it’s in good condition.
