I went through a bit of an anime-hating phase

sharknado sharknado 2016-11-06 03:43:19 About tired of anime and manga
I hated how girls were represented and sexualised, and all the cliches that happened in romances and actions. I got sick of it, honestly, and even now I only watch a few anime a year. Usually ones that are either gay or don't contain any sort of romance. Manga too has almost become a bit of a bore, since the BL I like reading is sometimes a bit unrealistic, too short, unaesthetically pleasing, etc, and I've moved on quite a bit to Korean and Chinese webtoons that have the quality I like. I've even wanted to make my own manga or webtoons for a while now.

Ok I'm super super late on the bandwagon but I thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce you this manga: Koi Dano Ai Dano and there's also a prequel Warau Kanoko-sama. I'm pretty sure you'll love the heroine since she has everything you're looking for: a non-stereotyped female lead.

Also there's another manga with a untypical female mc: Seiten Kickoff.

Let me know how you find them. (⌒▽⌒)

Hey, thanks heaps. I tried the first chapter of Koi Dano Ai Dano, and though the art style wasn't to my liking, I do like female characters like her. I'll need to read more to fully judge it though, since with characters like her, they tend to get softer during the series and it just becomes …eh. Seiten Kickoff got my attention just from the first few pages lmao, I'm actually sorta interested in reading them now. Thanks. :)

I like comedies like OPM, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Kuragehime, Koe no Katachi, which slip out of cliches. I used to enjoy romances and romcoms, but all of them have the submissive girl and protective bad boy cliche, or become reverse harems. Manga without unrealistically, or extremely stereotyped and cliche females and males are what I like, I don't mind if it's action, fantasy, psychological, but I do really like comedy,

try changing the genre you read! I had a phase like that but then I tried sports anime/manga and I loved it! then when there's no more good sports manga I could read I changed it to supernatural, then adventures then reincarnation stories.. andddd I hooked again! lol I'm still in the phase of reincarnation genre but this time I'm reading light/novel. I'm loving it! never thought I would see myself reading words without pictures lol

I used to watch a large variety of genres, but I slowly crossed each of them out because of the cliches.
