Just got called a koreaboo because I said I wanted to learn korean. Um what....like miss, I want to learn Korean because south korea is a developed country, which ofcourse has many job offers. And it also has some of the best universities in asia. So ofcourse I'll have an advantage if I learn korean and to work there.
It's funny how everyone assumes a person is learning korean because of k-pop. It's like no one associates south korea with anything other than k-pop. You all are dumb asf.
When I was studying Korean (I love Korean novels donT @ me) I avoided telling anyone because u automatically get placed in the category of “ew, u must be one of those koreaboos / if ur learning korean ur obviously a rabid kpop fan”. I DONT EVEN LISTEN TO KPOP LEAVE ME AND MY NOVELS IN PEACE IM JUST A BOOKWORM GIRL BYE

No u r not a koreaboo at all for learning Korean..... It's actually very advantageous to learn a foreign language..... I'm learning Japanese an I was once told am learning it because of anime..... Japan is just my dream country that I would love to travel to one of these years..... So if I were you don't pay attention to them at all and continue le...... reply
When I just wanna learn hangul so I can communicate with potential investors for my future company (just for communication and opportunities actually but hey you never know) and some kind of monolingual specie just insulted me. reply
aaa i feel you! same happens to me too when i say i'm learning japanese.. of course it's beneficial that i know the language since i like anime and manga, but i have other reasons too-- ack and that time when someone said the exact opposite, "why would you want to learn thai if there isn't any popular bands or comics from there" - i think the langu...... reply
