I feel like I’m an ugly girl cosplaying a pretty girl whenever I get dressed and put on makeup. People also come up to flirt with me now and all I can think is “this is a cruel joke, no one would actually like me. I talk to cats and imaginary ghosts that lived in my basement like they are people.” Having a glow up is eye opening, you can get away with being a lot more weird when you’re conventionally attractive. Hissing and barking at things is the line. I witnessed it. But there is a lot of shit people just let slide now that I’m hot.
Yes! I have a part time job in food service and I feel like how attractive you are totally has an impact on the way you are treated. I’m a pretty plain lookin gal but the days I do it up…I just feel like customers respond better to me and I def get better tips. (I also get flirted with a lot weirdly. But guys generally are always flirting with food service girls for some reason—we are being nice to you because it is our job!!) Also, totally get feeling like you’re cosplaying a hot girl when putting on makeup. Idk how much makeup you usually wear but sometimes it feels very uncanny-valley for me like I don’t really recognize myself.
