travelled solo abroad for the first time ever!!

kzrsk kzrsk 2020-02-11 07:22:58 About travelled somewhere new
so i went to japan to attend an event for 3 days, then i spent another 4 days travelling alone! i went to tokyo, osaka, kyoto in those 4 days. as a 18 y.o girl with no solo travelling experience even in my country, going to japan was a really good first solo trip experience! i speak very little japanese, english isn't my first language, but i was still able to go where i want. i only used google maps and i never got lost even once^^ you should definitely go to japan at least once! even travelling alone is enjoyable, just that you have to ask others to help take your photos(im shy so i only got 2 pics with myself in it xD) or you can use tripods and selfie sticks. oh and i used couchsurfing and stayed with a host in osaka. it was my first time staying in a stranger's house, and he's a guy around 10 years than me, but thank god he's a really nice person^^ he showed me around shinsekai in osaka at night(the pic with tower) and it was really beautiful! i went to fushimi inari taisha shrine and arashiyama bamboo forest in kyoto, and i went to tokyo one piece tower in tokyo^^ and if you're alone just stay in hostels to save money, even the cheapest hostel i stayed in in kyoto was really nice, and the owner told me some things like you can buy food for cheap in supermarkets at night after 8-9 pm because they always have discounts at night! i bought dinner and instant noodles for breakfast, and for lunch i just bought onigiri in konbinis like 7-11, family mart, and lawson. i only ate in a restaurant one time, it was mugiwara cafe in one piece tokyo tower, i ordered 1 main dish, 1 dessert, and 1 drink and it costed me 3200 yen O.O but its ok bc it was just one time and its mugiwara cafe how can you not want to eat there!!! anyways, you can definitely travel japan on a small/enough budget! and if you want to visit more than 1 cities like me(from tokyo-osaka-kyoto-back to tokyo) buy a jr pass to save money because a one way trip ticket with shinkansen is pretty expensive. with jr pass you can ride all shinkansen(except nozomi) and all jr trains, buses, and ferry. and one of the things i wanted to do on this trip, is of course buy bl mangas xD if you want cheap mangas, just go to book-off, they sell second-hand books, but dont worry bc all the books are still in good condition, and they're cheap! i bought 4 volumes of haikyuu(karasuno vs nekoma spring interhigh), and 3 bl mangas, and it costed me around 2000-2500 yen. if you want new books then just go to animate and other bookstores! second-hand books can be as low as 200 yes, while new books are around 600-1000 yen. i wanted to go to animate but didnt have enough time ;-;) anyways, it was really fun even though im alone :D definitely made me want to travel solo again! and buy more bl books( T A T)

if you want to see more pics of my trip, you can check my instagram @tiffane.y and just ask anything you want to know about my trip :D

Wow! That's amazing.. I also love to visit Japan at least once but 1) don't have enough money yet to travel abroad and 2) don't understand Japanese

So pretty... I’d love to visit Japan at least once.. except 1) I’m not too keen on plane trips, and 2) like hell I’m going to another country alone

yeah, sometimes i get worried and kinda scared when im on a plane, especially during my trip to japan. i was flying directly to japan without transits, and it was around 7-8 hours i think, same when i fly back to my home country ^^"
