Opinion on having FL in a shounen fantasy/action?
No hate, just asking. I personally don't really like them, though a few of them are bearable. If the FL is really annoying I would immediately dropped it. The most recent manhwa that I've dropped with this criteria is 'Infinite Mage'(UPDATE ME IF THE RED HAIRED FEMALE LEAD IS GETTING BEARABLE). If you're saying that's their charm then I'm sorry I can't relate to your feelings(〜￣∇￣)〜
Honestly, I hate the portrayal of girls in most shounen because they're usually just there to attract horny males who want waifus and never given any real thought to. They rarely have any character development throughout the story and their sole purpose is to make the ML look good.

I think this is linked to a bigger issue, misogynistic portrayal of women in media directed and men/young boys. They make the female love interests physically attractive but thatsnit, they give them no depth as characters nor good personalities. Says a lot about the way Japan/China/Korea views women, which is unsurprisingly considering how notoriou...... reply
Shounen and love interest are the worst combos to ever exist. I have no idea how many shounen ive read that got ruined by how annoying the potential love interest is, i like straight forward stuff if the lady is going to be mcs pair then please make her the only choice ffs dont make mc go through another freaking 10 girls as potential love interet...... reply
the problem is that authors don't know how to write women, they're only there for entertainment and fan service

NGL the only female characters I liked in shounen mangas are the ones in Demon Slayer, Haikyuu and JJK and they aren’t oversexualised and some of them are badass reply
I don't like most female leads. Most are just useless, annoying, and unrelatable. Yeah they pretty, but either have the worst personality or none. Unlike Lady Medea. 1 reply
