I'm laughing. I just found there was a case where an author stated they own the omegaverse trope in court. I can't stop smiling and laughing imagining the judge, lawyers learning about omegaverse.
Context: an omegaverse erotica author1 accused another author2 of the same genre of plagiarism or something because they use the same tropes/cliche. Author2's works got removed online but managed to restore her works then filed a lawsuit against author1 for damaging their rep. In court, author1 claim she OWNS all the typical omegaverse characteristics and cliché and since author2 use them as well, they are copied author1's work. And....

Honestly I think it's bold and terribly funny that the author had the balls to go on court and explain what's an omegaverse to everyone. Hearing a lawyer YouTuber say aloud what's a bite that leads to forever together made me die inside and laugh. Anyway seems like it's a usual thing the author do to cancel other writers that write omegaverse and trope similar to the stories she publishs. Attacking competitors basically. Luckily there's a law that copyright doesn't cover tropes/cliche related to genres so her claim were dropped in court or something
