rape is bad
but honestly an observation I've seen with how rape is written in stories.
yaoi + rape = meh
shounen ai + rape = actually scary
Yaoi just isnt serious sometimes. Like these mfs will have a rape scene then the next the character who got raped will be all chirpy like it never happened. Like wtf bro. Who wrote this.
Yaoi semes will rape the uke and then minutes later they'll be bantering about tea or something dumb before the seme forcefully drags the uke back into the bedroom for more 'rape time' (which is what would actually be said in the manga and the whole thing will be played for laughs).
Shounen ai rape is angst fuel. reply
and the SA is so unnecessary too. Like what do you mean the main character had to get raped by the antagonist and then have rough and kinky sex with the toxic ml so he can get over his assault and get better character development-

yaoi uses it to show readers some sex without putting too much effort in their relationship. they're romanticizing sexual abuse when it shouldn't be accepted under the "Boys'Love" tag at all.
shounen-ai doesn't need it, if it's there then you know it's about the actual abuse as it REALLY is. I love it for that. reply
Actually, SA in general isn't taken as serious as it should. Especial in mangas (as in Japanese comics - coz some are confused about which is which). Rape is just something they don't discuss in Japan. One famous case (which I think is still ongoing) is a woman who was raped while drunk by a higher up in her company. She grew up more westernized so...... 1 reply
The BL community made it that way though, if everyone would educate the artist instead of saying, “it’s fiction,” there wouldn’t be so much SA in BLs. 1 reply
