Yes, I have to admit it.
But I think it's normal, because the cover is the first thing you see of the book.
If i don't like the chace reading the manga is quite low.
The description (if we have one) is not so important to me.
I think many here think that the story is more important than the art and normally I would say it is right. But in case of ...... reply
Of course, I'm a superficial bastard when it comes to that. If the cover didn't catch my attention, I won't read it. But I've ran out of pretty covers so now I check ugly ones too :P And if I consider cover and art in general pretty, I'll read ANYTHING. You could lure me into reading population statistics if it had good art. 1 reply
Yes and no. When i am in the mood for Just reading i dont really care. But sometimes i am in the mood for reading about aan particular theme like yaoi with detectives then i judge. reply
YES! I go mostly by description though since I'm very picky about my plots. For the cover, I don't like reading mangas with very feminine ukes that it really is almost trap. And sometimes you can tell by the cover if it has typical BL shoujo-ish atmosphere or the more realistic/slow romance that I like~ But i prioritize the description/plot/story o...... 1 reply
I try not too judge by the cover anymore but by the synopsis. Even that isnt enough xD, i do remember after reading the synopsis of Akatsuki no Yona, I scoffed at it, the story seemed really cliche and stupid. I passed over it so manytimes until i couldnt find something to read before succumbing to reading it. I was really amazed by the storyline a...... reply
Well, I never read descriptions so it"s a surprise for me and I'm lazy, but I do judge from the cover art. If the art isn't so good, I usually read a bit and if the story is real good, I won't care for the art. But I always judge from cover, but it's hard to find new yaoi's now for me, so I try to read every new manga even if the cover is ugly ┐(...... reply
Yeah... The first thing it attracts me is a nice cover. Well drawn, or with beautifully colors, or with a nice composition... Then I click, and read the synopsis. Sometimes is enough and sometimes nope so I go and check some comments. That's the method: cover, synopsis & comments. And then I decide by myself if I wanna read it or not xD

I'll actually read the first chapter (of multi-chapter ones) if it catches my attention, I'll continue. If not, I'd drop the series altogether. I don't trust descriptions, art and comments since sometimes, I would find really good yaois (in my taste) that doesn't even get a description, with so-so art and bad comments. I'm into dark, depressing, e...... reply
I usually go with the art but not all the time, but something i'm very judge mental about it glasses( ̄∇ ̄") if one of the main characters have glasses I would not read it...
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ the funny thing is that I wear glasses myself but I hate them so much so I guess u could say that is the cause ╥﹏╥ reply
gorgeous/interesting cover art will definitely intrigue me and make me click... but if the rating is below 8 and there are really strong warnings for rape, cheating etc, i probably won't read it.
if, however, the cover art is bad, it won't put me off reading a well regarded yaoi. a not so great cover and description can hide an amazing story. reply
