Guys be honest should I quit my internship
So basically I work as a content creator at an event club and it's unpaid and I work 4 times a week, I have to stay on call for 8 hours of the day, my break is 30 minutes and they're making me do every social media platform which involves making 2 posts a day on every site, also they're starting to make me do TikTok lives? which is not on my contract also hosting their events? I started in the beginning of March and they've lost about 4 new interns and now a 2 month intern who I actually got along with, literally this one girl had 200k on TikTok and dipped 3 days after she was introduced, they stronger than me because I'm scared of confrontation so I still work here.
I've literally asked everyone in my life and everyone on the internet, I don't knowwww
It's unpaid?? What are you gaining from this, it's basically slavery.
I think that if 4 others interns left before you, then you should probably too. There's a reason they left 2 reply
Quit that black company hun. There is literally no advantages of you staying there. Here is 2 options for you
1. Immediately quit (if you really cant handle it anymore and if the contract allows)
2. Find another job and quit the moment you land that other job
Also try to talk to them about the tiktok live. Say that it is not within the contract. 1 reply
You're legit losing money by being their social media slave. You're basically working a full time job doing something that gives you no transferable skills and getting paid jack shit for it. Just send them an email saying you quit, stop going to "work," and don't even bother putting this on your resume. Time. Is. Money. reply
Yup quit. It’s pretty much unfair and not on the contract. I definitely get that confrontation is hard, but they DO THAT ON PURPOSE, because they know workers don’t like speaking out. It’s the same with when people try to ask for a raise and such.
Sometimes it’s best to stand up, because either way, you’ll be leaving soon (hopefully)! M...... reply
Is there a time limit (because internships are usually only a few weeks/months long)? Is the workplace well-known or significant enough to gain you a strong cornerstone in your resume? Your workload seems tremendous, so you should earn at least that (think "The Devil Wears Prada").
I say it's time to either leave or renegotiate, after all you've ha...... 3 reply
