Yesterday I asked "Is it weird to read just bl?" question and I got responses related to mgg being a bl site and stuff so I felt like giving context on WHY EXCATLY I asked that question
One of my frd asked for romance reccs so I gave her few (including every genre bc I read everything) and she said bc she has been reading bl all this time she can't read/finds it hard to read straight romances despite being straight herself. I asked why so and she said it's just how it is for her? Then I met another girl w the same issue who even had a bf that time so now I'm js confused
I don't mind them they're free to do as long as they're not hurting anyone tho I want to know why, so atleast I know I'm not missing anything so if someone has the same issue pls explain Is it bc of the plot? Maybe they find straight stuff boring now because the female characters are portayed a certain way. You will find that most bottoms (be it male or female) are written to be relatable, but if you don't find them relatable, it can become boring really fast. If you can't read a story/ plot in other genres but can with BL, admit it, you don't care about the plot and just want to see two men fuck. Bl plots aren't unique, it's just that the rainbow community is easy to exploit. Being unable to read straight romance despite being straight yourself and only reading BL is so weird. Both genre can have mangas that are masterpiece or straight up garbage. oh, i have the same issue. after i started reading bl, i rarely find straight romance exciting. currently, the only sl i read are veil and after school, which make me feel giddy, while the rest i find interesting as for gl, there are only a few that made me feel giddy, bloom in to you and I honestly am not sure why I don't enjoy sl as much anymore. 1 reply
My female friends are the same. I asked them and they said that straight romance is pretty common both in manga and irl. So they are not particularly interested in that. I have the same issue back then lmfao. Where i love romance story if it’s BL or GL. Idk, I just found straight romance plain and doesn’t have the spice as BL/GL has. (Doesn’t mean explicit/mature content)

As someone who reads almost all genres including straight romance and action and BL. But predominantly reads BL, for me I think it’s just being unable to see guy on guy romance irl. We see straight couples everywhere out and about and we hear about it constantly. But I or the rest of the BL community look for something that’s more rare? Idk how...... reply
