Have you ever noticed a change in the type of stories you enjoy when you look at the history of your reading list 3 years ago and think, "Is this what I was reading before?" Bcs Previously, I liked reading spicy sex scene yaoi stories, but now I prefer calming stories with fewer sex scenes. （￣へ￣）
Not really. My taste has always been great (jk) but fr I think at the very start I only read stories in which the MC was in strict denial that they were gay and I never touched anything in which they were introduced 100% aware of it. Tho tbh I was never a fan of too many smut scenes. The real draw of smut for me is when the characters are being insufferable so a romp in the sheets is a nice distraction from them being stupid.

I used to read this really fucked up shit. Like abusive tops and sexual assault that was completely normalized within the story (Roses and Champagne, to name one example). I don’t ever regret reading anything, but yeah over the years the taste in the type of stories you like to read just change… I still like hardcore smut, but in a way it also helped me figure out my own interests/dislikes (like I hate bondage, tentacles, beastiality, threesomes, etc)
