Mangas, Manhwas or Manhuas?
Have your preferences changed in reading either since you started reading comics? I've recently come to realise that mangas have grown on me and it's been really fun. Previously my reading preferences were confined to manhwas cause I had a bad impression of mangas, stuff like - "oh they aren't colored" "Its hard to understand and easy to get confused cause of the reading format" "Average artstyle" etc.. But the more I read, the more I came to like them and my initial reservations faded. Now I thoroughly enjoy reading them <3 I used to read popular manhuas sporadically, but grew tired of the similar art style, that is wonky eyes, pale skin and stick thin physique, clichéd character personalities and furthermore, the Chinese censorship frustrated me and led me to lose interest, while I may reconsider them in the future, it won't be anytime soon. What about you?
i prefer mangas, you'll either find mangas to be the best piece of godsend work or downright concerning thinking that the author needs to be in a psych ward. and i think thats beautiful 2 reply
Honestly same. Started reading manga then it shifted slowly to manwhas because of how easier it is to read.
But I started appreciating manga’s again due to the difference of “plot”?? I can’t explain it but i feel more emotional when it comes to manga, PLUS how unique and pretty the artstyle is. i regret not appreciating it enough.

All the hate towards manhwas damn, I think it deserves more appreciation, mangas are good but not near better enough for me to tune in every week and literally have a schedule to read the updated stories, I have more fun reading manhwas seriously idk maybe it's because I find their stories more thrilling and intriguing, there's always gonna be that...... reply
i don’t understand the manhwa/manhua hate. ain’t nothing wrong with colored vertical comics. To me, manhwa and Manhua have little to no difference the censorship doesn’t bother me, nor the darker elements that tend to be in manhwa. I read mostly Manhua/manhwa cause a lot of mangas have this particular art style that I dislike, not to mention ...... 3 reply
If we're talking specifically about bl, cuz that's what most people seem to be talking about, then manga is usually better. I avoided reading bl mangas for a while because they're all pretty short and I like slow burns, but a lot of them use their 5 chapters well. There's ehhhhhh a bit more variation in plot? When I click on a story today and see it's a manhua my instinct is to think "I'm probably not going to like this"
My main problem with them are that love stories about adults are portrayed as love stories of 13 year olds but with topics that are very much not for kids. 2 reply
