Ages when reading
To older readers, like 25+, do you guys still like reading or watching manwha and other content based in college, or with young main characters? Or enjoy sexual series/content with characters these ages? Like, do you guys still get attracted to college aged characters that are much younger, or enjoy stories/smut of characters and plots that are that young?
I’m wondering, because people like 24-25+ dating or liking 18/19yos or early twenties is seen as creepy and weird, and ig I wonder how that translates to fiction and fictional attraction/content. Like, do most older readers just move on and shun regular or sexual manwhas that are set in college or don’t like younger characters in any medium cause they’re too young for you irl? I also wonder about this with age gaps too and how that might effect y’alla reading and enjoyment in other areas of media
I like things that are fictional and legal.
I'm 29 and the youngest I'll ever date is at least three years younger than me-- The age increases as I get older. Real people of that age -- I see them as babies but fictional is different. 1 reply
I don't have a problem with 25+ adults reading college/high school stories. I don't think what someone reads is necessarily indicative of their real life morals or values. I don't really read high school romance anymore, but that's less about morals and more because I'm not interested in the trope. 1 reply
I love highschool/college trope because its just such a youthful trope. Reading them youngster being dumb and in love is just cute.
Im reading for the characters story. Im not trying to insert myself inside the story or project myself as any of the characters. And I dont think I ever got attracted to the character when reading. This apply to all...... 1 reply
not 25 yet, but i do read those stuff, and honestly most of the characters are like 20 and older, I've yet to see a story set in college with characters that are in their 18's or 19's

I mean why should readers care? As long as they can separate fiction from real life it’s good. Yes I have anime husbandos/wifus/whatever that are highschool age but they aren’t that deep,like I’m not obsessed with them. I just find them attractive but not enough to want to fuck them (this is due to me being aroace and common sense)
