It can definitely be weird but idk. When I was young I made a lot of friends of all ages in fandom spaces etc and idk where I'd be today without my weird older internet friends I had as a youth. I dont think it's weird if theres no bad intentions and not trying to intervene each others personal lives and just talk about the things they're on site, like games unless its discord, insta, snap and any apps where personal information can be seen from posts reply
Ive had 18-20+ yr old friends when I was 16 so I dont rlly think its weird, unless the gap is rlly big.
These are mostly from games tho, and u cant rlly tell if someone is a minor or not most of the time. We'd become friends first before asking about each other's age.

when i was younger my oldest friends found out my age and they honestly just took care of me like a little sister but now as an adult casual convo w a minor feels so?? like even if we do enjoy the same stuff i dont think i could casually text a 15 year old about a shared interest reply

I've always find it weird, when I was 15 I thought it was weird and today as an adult I think the same.
You can't rlly avoid minors online if they rlly wanna talk to you but I think if you go along w it knowing their age and still establish a level ground friendship is weird asf.

I'm an avid gamer and I have met a lot of friends online who were teens at the time.
Tbh I never felt weird talking to someone just because they were a certain age, you talk to people and you can feel how dum or how mature they can be irrespective of their ages.
