in a quite tight situation rn, got inquired if i read yaoi or yuri i answered that i only read yaoi so i got pressed up for why i read yaoi when i dont even touch the latter ? its not like i hate it or smth, it's just not my game
the question is, is it normal ? its ironic ik, i'm a woman myself and in the spectrum of the rainbow, pansexual to be specific. but i am alone perplexed if this is a normal preference?
Ugh ppl think that if you only read yaoi that you fetishize gay men. It’s honestly stupid because that’s literally not the case for most ppl. I mostly read yaoi because I can’t find yuris that suit my standard and that fine but ppl wanna be critically online and say it’s a fetish smh 2 reply
People care way too much about what a stranger do with their free time despite it not affecting them. It’s fine if it doesn’t translate to real life. Ignore those who tell you it’s not. reply
its not normal. its not anything revolutionary. its not progressive. all youre doing is fetishising gay men with some excuses. it's seriously frustrating how often women fetishise men and even their sexuality. so shibal disgusting 3 reply

Tell them there are not enough good yuri out there. Compared to yaoi, the amount of yuri produced every year is too little. That means less interesting stories and dynamics. There are a lot of yaoi out there so obviously there's a wider range of quality. Tell them it's not about the yuri or yaoi, it's about the industry standard. 1 reply
Not much good yuri here anyway, it's either just corn made for a male viewer, evil woman/ not a girl's girl or severely misogynistic. I don't read to see the problems I am forced to deal with because I was born a woman, I just wanna read love without no weird ass power dynamic or stuff that indermines/glosses over/invalidates the issues (aka making...... reply
