Anyone here with gay parents? Are they nicer than your friends' parents or other parents you know of? And/or do you have a good relationship with them? I'm writing a story and want to deepen my understanding in the field (づ￣ ³￣)づ
So, I personally don't have gay parents, but one of my friends does. And they're just...normal parents. Idk what to say (￣∇￣") They have their good sides, their bad sides, you know, they're just people. And if they're nicer? Umm, if my friend does some dumbs shit, she's gonna get grounded, or if she doesn't study, she's definitely gonna hear ...... reply
They're just people. Normal people. Being gay doesn't make you any different than other people. The worst thing you can do when portraying gay parents in media is to act like they're not gonna act like the average parents. There is nothing to 'understand'. Just write them as any other couple.
