Quick, gimme some suggestions on how to survive the New Year night with 3 relatives I don't particularly like or have things to talk about with?? My sister bailed and made other plans and my cousin will be at work and I found all this out last minute so now I'm stuck as the only young person at this boring and awkward family gathering and it's too late for me to back out too now. Honestly I've been in ur shoes b4. The best thing to do is ignore and not engage. When they talk to u, say the bare minimum (Yes, no, etc.). Keep urself busy too, and act like u want to be there, even thoe u don't. Its all ab mind power. U can do this, just stick to the script u already have in ur mind. Goodluck 1 reply
