Solo leveling (Discussion)
There's a lot of debate that solo leveling is mid, and yadada.. as someone who loves solo leveling, I can agree why a lot of ppl r saying it's mid. Sure, there's plot. I actually rlly love the plot, it's one of the things where ik I would love to go back in time where I haven't read it yet, just so I can feel my heart beat when I first read it lol
The biggest problem that I can see is the fact that it's too fast paced. Plus, no real character development from the mc. Sure, we can get a glimpse of his humanity sometimes(where he would be silly, crack an awkward smile or cry), but his character from before he became op, was soooo good. Watching the anime rlly made me remember how I love his weak era. He actually has emotions and expressions, and not just a stone faced nonchalant guy. I rlly wished the author took a lot of time developing jinwoo... If he had, this debate wouldn't have become a big deal.
SL has one of the worst character development, not a single memorable character to name. except for beru, hes an exception. mc is so flat & unrealistic. hes perfectly written for self insert story to quickly power up & feel badass taking down big bad guys. mc wasnt the only issue, its every single character the author couldn't develop for shit.

The main point of solo leveling is to be a escapist power fantasy, i don't like it, i think it's ass but the target audience for it enjoys it I'm not gonna yuck your yam if you enjoy it but it's not a well written story, it's not a compelling story and it doesn't have a any compelling characters or story lines. After reading many heavy plot themed stories u need one which is not heavy on the plot but the mc. The main reason ppl like SL is cuz of the aura farming and its completely normal. The plot is mid, i gotta admit, maybe thats why ppl who love heavy plots were disappointed when they read SL, they expected it to be mind blowing (plot wise) as it was s...... 1 reply
