I don't think I can ever say that my friends left me. It's more that I left them?
The thing is I don't particularly have any close friends. But I do cherish a select few. I'm not a people's person, and making new friends literally give me a headache and I'd need panadol. I'm not good with keeping up with friends over the internet, so I've been out of touch with most of them. I'm now entering the work field, and I only have 4 people that I have considered my best friends growing up. In which 2 of them hung out after I moved far away, and they became closer to each other than they were with me despite me being the one who introduced them and they never shared schools.
I do feel like I don't have the capacity to keep checking up on people, and I don't feel the want to do it. Since nobody have and will check up on me anyways.
Am I an ass for it? Probably.
If your friends were anything like me, I am so sorry. In their place I apologise. I hope you make better friends, and leave the ones like me far far away.

I don't see what you did is wrong in any way. That's just who you are. That's your choice for wanting to be by yourself. I see nothing wrong with it.
