Shit, do you guys think chatgpt can actually translate shit decently? I did try the goddamn thing, and I think it was pretty good.
Don't know when AI became advanced enough to perfectly translate an English sentence into something more casual and informal speech in my native language.
So anyways, I was asking cuz I thought about MTLing the fuck out of a Korean novel just so I could read it myself. Cuz I'm done, like, literally so done that I'm even considering MTL just so I could get another hit of some fat fucking juicy plot.
It's very evident when a novel is translated using AI, and it does include errors as AI is not perfect, but you should also consider the environmental and ethical factors of using AI and how harmful it is. I don't really know how to feel about AI translation. mainly cuz I have no idea how it work. does it have the same ai like google translate? which I assume is a similar AI that has been used before the popularity of generative AI (pre 2022) or is it gen AI like grok which doesn't really translate, but predicting what the translation might be.

Unfortunately AI is getting better at translating… Replacing human translators, today teachers even tell you to not become a translator because they just (at least in my country) train AI and correct translations made by AI… that’s sad.
