Why do I laugh when getting my blood drawn
Im not saying this is a weird edgy way, but I just got my blood drawn and I couldn’t help but laugh uncontrollably. Whenever I looked at the needle and the blood I’d start laughing harder and harder, she even lost my vein cause I was laughing too much and kept moving around. It didn’t hurt at all either. This also happened when I got stitches on my fingers since ive cut three of them open. Every time I’d laugh super hard when they were stitching up the wound idk why. Does anybody know the reasoning behind this? I tried looking it up but I couldn’t find an answer.
its your brains coping mechanism to stress or anxiety, I also laugh a lot in uncomfortable situations then im like 'what the hell is wrong with me' 1 reply
I don't mean to scare you or anything but what you described sounds slightly similar to a condition called sovaldion. You can learn more about it from here https://youtu.be/oHg5SJYRHA0?si=ZrD6ccOdpvWlAXHg reply
Has no one ever addressed it when it happened? Yk doctors and nurses usually mention if the reaction theyre getting is normal or unusual(?
Idk in my case I intensely staring as they draw the blood and often get some comment about it lol 1 reply
It happens when u cant control a stressful situation. Yk how we laugh when something unexpected happens, let it be good or bad cuz we dont know how else to react, its the same thing. Sort of a coping mechanism reply
maybe its just a strange response to feeling nervous? Cuz I know some people laugh when they feel like nervous or sad or whatever. Like, when I cry in front of other people I tend to laugh like crazy but like also not in an edgy way lmao reply
