If you want to remain friends with him, then do your best. Whether it's actually stopping or lie to him. I think it isnt that big of a deal anyway. I lied to a lot of people about this too. Why do I feel like he is going to spread a rumor about you.. I think u should just stop being friends with him. I mean if he is your true friend in the first place, then he should be able to accept you just the way you are.
