My first encounter with this phrase "performative bl reader" was on tiktok. A girl denied being one by pouring out physical copies of bl (One of them be killing stalking). In another post a girl cited all the illegal websites she uses. What makes someone a performative bl reader? What does this term truly mean or is it another brain dead tiktok term?

I think that term is just someone spewing garbage and hoping it will catch on. I guess if someone says they've read it and they haven't, that's just lying, no need to give it a fancy name.
