It's not disrespectful. But this hatred of the word talent has a reason. We understand when people say it it's in the best intentions and I do take it as a compliment. I hate the word talent when it’s used as a reason for people to quit like ‘you don’t really have enough talent so why don’t you try something else?’. I hate when talent becomes a door they shut in your face. Like Oikawa said ‘talent is something you make bloom.’   reply

Most people who end up insanely good at sth are talented as well. However, art community for some reason hate talented people and get triggered by a mere mention of talent.
