Here is the list of the top 10 mangas Japanese (I think they're the ones who voted?? not sure, feel free to correct me) audiences want to see animated in 2026, if you're curious:

My thoughts on each nominee (you can skip this part if you don't care):
#1. I don't care about this one.
#2. We need more sports animes, they're always so fucking good... well, almost always (anyone remember Futsal boys or whatever that ass was called? )
#3. I'M CRINE WTF IS THIS ONE apparently the manga's an adaptation of a Switch game?? I never played it.
#4. Someone said this one is like "Phantom Busters if it was scary," I haven't read either... YET, so idk but it seems interesting.
#5. I NEEEEED THIS, THIS IS PEAKKKK, I WANT MORE YURI ANIMES!!
#6. I don't care about this one.
#7. Never heard of this one, unfortunately it only has 3 chapters on here although it's already on volume 7-8 and idk where I can read it.
#8. I love dinosaurs... why haven't I heard about this... gotta read it ASAP!!

This manga has been in the top 10 for this poll for like 2-3 years straight, and unpopular opinion which I might get tomatoes thrown at me for, but I honestly don't think there's any point in animating it now since it's so short, content-wise. It's a monthly publication so if it gets animated now, with only 34 chapters available, the next season will probably only get animated in 2030 or something. Also lowkey, I DO LIKE THIS MANGA, FYI, but I seriously don't get all the hype behind it? It's actually a pretty generic battle shounen, all things considered. The plot is both fast-paced and slow as fuck, like things keep happening but at the same time literally nothing is happening. I prefer the pre-serialised version of it ngl. BUT I DO LIKE THE ART AND THE CHARACTER DESIGNS AND THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES OKAY, DON'T CANCEL ME.

I am definitely biased, but this list not having Kagurabachi or Madan no Ichi is a fucking crime though, what the heck.. apparently they rated high in previous years, and there's a policy of not nominating series that have already reached the top before, to avoid repetitive lists and make room for new works to shine through, but I think that's a lie due to the fact that Gokurakugai was nominated, AGAIN. And it was nominated and placed highly in previous years, too so wtf.
