Dub all the way, unless I don't have another choice. Reading subtitles while watching just makes me less immersed in the story. Most dubs are high-quality anyway, and you can pick up emotions just as well in either. Plus, I lowkey hate those squeaky, high-pitched girls' voices in Japanese. They make my ears hurt, and they sound like little kids. An...... reply
Sub all the way, I always watch in the original language. Dubbing here in Italy sucks (sorry) especially for animes, idk they sound very cringey and they sound all the same to me, and most of the time I feel like the voice doesn't suit the character like at all. A lot of people only prefer sub because they’re adding their own interpretations as they read. A lot of times it has nothing to do with how well the sub VAs are. reply
Subs all the way. Dub is just too unnatural and it lessens the original emotion of it for me. The only time I preffered dub (in my native language which is Czech) was when I was a kid and didn't understand english, lol. reply
Definitely prefer sub over dub, mostly because it sounds natural and the voice acting is always very expressive and matches the characters. I also like reading subtitles. not all dubs have subs either. They really should though.
But sometimes the dub can be just as hilarious. Like Haikyuu or Ouran. Those are absolute gems for dubs! reply
I prefer to go with subs since they sound more natural with the characters but there's some pretty good dubs too like Beastars (IMO) and Cowboy Bebops dub also seems pretty nice from what I've seen reply
