How did you discover yaoi

Through my mum. Haha she has a whole bunch of them at home and since I loved anime at a young age, as soon as I learned to read she recommended me to read a shounen ai. Though I don't really read much of it now, it's still a beloved genre of mine. They were actually the first form of manga I read. :)   4 reply

I mistook this one manga for shoujo, but it was shounen-ai. I got into it cause the plot was funny. Then all of a sudden the website i was reading manga from uploaded a surplus of bl which i got curious about since i was attracted to the art. As a horny teenager, I was already watching ecchi and hentai. After being finished with an ecchi, I continued onto the "recommended for you" page and chose a manga with nice aesthetics. because i first got into anime, and was browsing youtube one day and saw a video titled "YAOI" something and i think it was a video of a smutty naruto dj... but that's probably not my first encounter with bl and yaoi, i just have a terrible memory and that's the first thing that came to mind.   reply

I didnt know what yaoi was then but then I searched for it. It began with Naruto's comedic pairing with Sasuke. I found it very cute and funny until an older acquaintance told me "I didn't know you were into yaoi (ya-oy)." I searched for it and then I basically said goodbye to my innocence.   reply
