Like in rivalries they top always have the upper hand and are always embarrassing the bottom, it's especially irritating when their said to be like super smart and good at their job and fall for the easiest fucking tricks known to mankind. It's so tiring reading stories where the main character is always losing.

I have this same issue with shoujo rivalries too. Why does the ml always have to be smarter, richer, and stronger than the mc and ALWAYS without even trying? The mc will be working their ass off day and night and the ml just waltzes in and gets first place. It's infuriating! 1 reply
this fucks me up so bad.... dont get me started. I've dropped several stories because at first they make the mc seem so capable and independent but whoops no we cant have that because the ml cant exist without one upping the mc in some sort of way. it really inspires no interest in me when I have to see a character constantly be the submissive one...... 2 reply
And in the top's pov he just toys with the mc too. Mc is having a one sided rivalry while ml dont even take him seriously or he's "two steps ahead" and honestly i dont think it's only bl reply
