What are harmless tropes you dislike?
I'm starting to really dislike the trope of a person taking over another person body. The more I read about it the more icky I find it, obviously the person body is just a plot device but all I can think is how horrible it would be for my own body to be taken over by someone who uses it as they please like for sex it's low-key rapey as hell (not saying that's what the authors are trying to portray or even considered when writing just my own feelings). I just end up feeling bad for the person that died and never had a chance to be better or loved.
I hate when MC ends up with the most powerful or influential ML. Like you think that him helping her in major events is romantic but it's always the 2nd ML who is there for her in her lowest low, and is the most considerate one and has more dynamic with the MC a lot of times. Like why did you make the 2nd ML so lovable and more moments with the MC ...... 2 reply
Love triangles. Very very twinky and weak uke. Pushover Uke. Super super sweet and cute uke (it'll depend but most of the time I hate it.) and especially 2nd ML or Mc harem. I hate it so much. Especially when 2nd is a sweetheart. Unless he gets his own love, I ain't reading it. (I have a lot more tropes I don't like but they fall into harmful trope...... reply
1. When everyone is a dumb villain to the mc because the mc has to look smart. This will just make it dumb overall.
2. When in reincarnation mc(woman/girl) they act like very innocent, blush at ever flirt a childs give them. Makes me feel yucky.
Extra. When the fl is married in some family and the attendant, maid abuses them. Thats stupid and dumb...... reply
When the characters suddenly realize that they knew each other in some way when they were your, specially children. It's like they somehow needed that connection to fall in love!?
What happened to the good ol' days when two complete strangers would meet and fall in love? 1 reply
Where the uke trips for no reason and seme catches him and they have a moment.
Where the leads meet in a very dense city coincidentally/accidentally and often, because plot device
Where ukes act cloyingly coy and it's cringe. 1 reply
Inescapably pervasive and over-the-top harem. I didn't used to dislike it so much since I understand the appeal for readers who put themselves in the MC's role and want to feel desired, but as someone who doesn't do that and would never want to have to suffer the stress of a harem situation, I'm so tired of it being everywhere, and excessively aggr...... reply
i just found out i really dislike it when a character is trampled over by others and just silently accept it. i dislike characters with zero pride or ego (like, wheres the fun in it? wheres your fucking rage? RISE). basically a pushover doormat character trope.
(i read a bl where the uke is a pushover and coming back pissed the hell off. then i tr...... reply
