Help me find this story

Ok so ever since the website updated I lost so many of my reads. I’m currently looking for one and all I can remember is the main character and his boyfriend are secretly dating in college and the secret boyfriend is the school president. The main character sees one of his friends from military and wants to come out to him but is scared. All I can remember is that they went for fried chicken and he told his friend he’s gay and his friend said oh I knew I saw you and your boyfriend kissing in the car when I went out for a smoke. He was also bullied for being gay in high school so he kept a low profile in college. I also remember he saw one of his bullies when him and his bf went to dinner and the bully was his waiter and said he wanted to hang out again but it sent the main character into a panic attack. If someone knows this title please help a girl out
