Miscommunication trope
I feel like authors don't think they can create conflict in any other way but i genuinely think communication can cause A LOT of conflict, disagreements especially in relationship are normal and big parts of conflicts in relationships. Just because two people are open and communicate it doesn't mean they'll always agree and won't fight
YESSSS I agree, 1995 youth report did a good job at this imo, their conflicts felt real and raw esp after the *just got into a relationship with my crush!* phase where they fought but learnt to understand each other. most authors avoid this since it's pretty risky and easy to fuck up AND it's easier to just make them kiss already and roll out the '...... 1 reply
i feel like it’s fine if the conflict is light and doesn’t lead to a whole ass arc chase. but usually it does. these characters could perform in horror movies at that point cuz they act so stupid it’s frustrating. if your miscommunication trope lasts for 25 chapters, girl u gotta end that story right NOW.

Miscommunication tropes are fine, sometimes good for plot development really. Gets annoying if it happens each arc back to back I guess it really depends on how they deal with it 1 reply
