Genshin fans (rant)
I'm a new genshin player and I've been playing for about a week or two now and i never interacted with the fandom before, I just went onto pinterest to look at the characters and learn the lore and ngl it's amazing and the redesigns artists make are so soo cool I wish it's canon but anyways, the hate against the women of genshin is soo forced. I get that misogyny is almost everywhere now and, well, fanservice. But the designs are genuinely so cool and amazing, I never once felt hatred towards the female outfit designs because it's just awesome to look at! I do get the hate that some of them are made for the male gaze but belittling these characters to uphold characters like arlecchino just because they don't wear revealing clothes is misogynistic itself imo....wish more fans get this but idk interacting with fandoms in general spikes my cortisol levels
And the mental gymnastics other Genshin fans so easily do when they assert that "no, this scantily clad female character who's literally wearing two scraps of fabric that gets passed off as a dress totally chose her outfit and not the male hoyoverse higher ups!! criticizing her super sexualized outfit tailored for gooner enjoyment is an act of miso...... 1 reply
What cool design?? With each update, they make the girl character skirts shorter and their figures lewder. I think the thing that people forget is that these female characters are created BY men FOR men. These are not real women, they are designed to appease a target audience. this is why I never interact with any of the fandoms cuz toxic fans exist everywhere and makes the whole experience bad. I just play or watch or listen whatever it is and go about my day instead of checking what’s going on in the fandom. I get what you feel. Im a 3 years players and even I am still shocked at how 'supposed fans' acts entitled on social media. As the saying goes, most players don't read. Bet they don't even answer the ingame surveys. So debating w them is indeed a headache

I haven’t played Genshin in years but most of the people that play aren’t exactly woke. Even the players that are woke don’t really say anything. You’re probably reacting to a small percentage. Being you’re new to the fandom, you probably have to training your algorithm. reply
Played Genshin for several years and the designs kept getting worse to pander more and more to a certain category of players. I mean things had never been great from the very beginning but really went downhill pretty fast after Fontaine.
