Can you be too old for anime?
So I am a big fan of anime. So recently a question pop in my head. . . . Can you still be in the age 50s and still enjoy anime? So I look it up and I saw some people who said they are in 40s and still watch anime. I am just scared that I am going to grow out of loving anime and yaoi. So I thought I like to hear other opinions on this. By the way I am still a super young teenager( best not to state my age lol) and in high school.
As the others who have commented, I don't think you need to worry about age. I know people approaching 40 who still loves ghibli movies just as much as they did in their youth. Now they watch anime with their kids. My uncle games and watches anime. He's in his 60s now. Your tastes may change in the future, sure, that's fine. As you experience more ...... reply
No. (that was the end of my comment, but i will elaborate a little)
Anime is just a form of art like any other tv show: it has different genres and different target audience (including age). So, if you love anime, you probably won't stop watching it when you are older (I'm 33 and I still watch anime) reply
No you can never be too old for anime. honestly you can never be too old for fandom in general either. are we all expected to hit 30 and exclusively watch grey's anatomy?? I'm pretty sure i'll be like 80 reading some fanfic and manga in my nursing home. reply
Theres a guy that used to have a youtube channel and every video he would talk about different animes and even after he stopped uploading he still watched anime. He was like in his 80's at the time and he stopped uploading in like 2008? I cant remember this was something I saw from a video talking abt content creators that disappeared. Idk what hes...... reply
These replies are giving me so much life, I'm only 21 but I can't imagine myself ever letting go of my love for reading manga and watching anime. They say when you get older you are able to enjoy the things you wish you could've when you were younger, kind of a nod to your inner child. I only discovered my love for manga a couple of years ago and I...... reply
I don't think it's a matter of being 'too old' for something. Rather, I think it's that different things interest us at different times in our lives according to when we're open to receiving them. This has been the case for me with the stories I read, the media I consume, and the things I learn. So to answer your question, no, you can't be 'too old...... reply
