I'm not sure who you are speaking of specifically, but I know some AI translators do it to siphon content. Like, there are some works with translations that are done and free, but an AI translator will pick it up and lock it behind a paywall.   reply

I think maybe because they *are* ai scans, they dont register that the new chapter has already been uploaded by a previous ai scanner? and so they just upload anyway over eachother.   reply
