Don’t get me wrong, i have read too many masterpieces from manhwas and u can see it in my lists. But when a manga is a masterpiece it is way more complicated feelings wise than manhwas, they just leave a way greater impact. Manhwas can be a little melodramatic at some points just like kdramas and you can have unnecessarily prolonged episodes which many mangas don’t have. The short manhwas just cannot leave as much impact as even a one shot manga sometimes. They need at least sixty chapters to deliver that strong hit that leaves you thinking about it for months if not years. The problem with manga is that it’s too slow and rarely updates these days unlike 2010s. Again please do not think that I don’t like manhwas there are too many masterpieces that left me in awe. Tell me what u think
Definitely, I don't know the reason behind it personally maybe it's how popular reptitive slop is in manhwa, but manga always leaves me with more emotions and memories, manhwas DO have banger stories for example Reunion and no more eurydice!! But also a manga like Kimi no yoru ni fureru, with 5 chapter only, made me feel the same impact as those of 70+ chapters.
But I could be biased because I've always had a preference to mangas anyway. Manhwas barely write about stories so deep, not the mainstream ones at least.
