I miss my eyecontactship

It's crazy to think the closest thing I got to a romantic relationship didn't even entered the talking stage threshold cuz we were only eyecontactship for about... 3-4 years? Basically the entirety of my highschool. We were on friendly terms during 1st year but then I became awkward and could barely function like a human being after the pandemic so we were basically no close to strangers, yet I still catch them staring at me in a lot of instances up until graduation.

I'm not the confrontational type so nothing really progressed between us, plus after some time I realized I didn't actually like them in a romantic sense. I guess I was just so isolated and barely making any friends where that bit of attention made me feel special, but alas, I hope they're safe and thriving wherever they may be
