Ok hear me out but I'm actually really tired that almost every time I see something online about yet another attack on queer people there's always someone claiming something like "oh, the attacker must be jealous because they'll never be able to accept themselves" or some other flavour of saying an attack must've been caused by internalised homophobia or something.
Why does it always have to be our own people hurting us? Like, even if they're not saying it as an excuse, why do we always have to assume someone that is displaying their hatred for us must be like us.
Maybe some straight people are just evil. Maybe they just fucking hate us because they feel they have nothing in common with us.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from.
I actually wrote a paper on why people are homophobic so I think I can answer this. I wouldn’t say straight people are inherently evil (I’m not defending them), they’ve just never had any close contact with someone who was queer, at least not enough to be meaningful. People tend to adopt such beli...... reply
There is plenty of bad queer people, and I don't really believe that someone could 'just' hate someone, it's always projected from the inside, so the person must hate themselves for something, and then they project it on someone else.
