Cold take but like the outside world needs to be more animal friendly

Hikyo Hikyo 2026-08-16 01:30:30 About question
People are always going around "keep your animals inside!" But never make the outside world more friendly for every animal. I'm sick of this, like yes unfortunate road accidents happen but I wish we had a sign like for children "Beware animals in this area" Like specially in neighborhoods so people would slow tf down. Hold animal abusers MORE accountable and jail them, because more than times they don't receive enough jailtime. I swear country like turkey is so cat friendly! Like more countries should be that animal friendly more. It isn't just our earth, it's theirs too and they should be able to safely roam around. Without fearings cars and people may harm them.

But the ecosystem! Feed them, like how ppl do with ducks anyways. These animals won't be so "aggressive" If people weren't actively harming them or were in constant danger. Though of course this seems almost impossible to do because most government don't care about it's own people anyways but this is just me saying that. I wish just that the world was more like turkey towards cats because wym cats can do this and be safe? Even if it isn't that cat friendly as it seems on social media, I still wish the world was like this. Co-existing with other animals without harming them.

Not just road accidents. Outdoor cats are almost always ridden with intestinal parasites and fleas (unless they are dewormed regularly or are on monthly prescription flea/tick prevention, which many aren’t). Intestinal parasites are very uncomfortable for cats to live with and a lot of cats are also allergic to fleas - cats with flea allergies will endlessly scratch and groom themselves and will lose fur + destroy their skin as a result. Outdoor cats also get into territorial fights with each other which often cause open wound injuries that WILL get infected without treatment. They deal with horrific abscesses or life-changing infections from lacerations or puncture wounds that are left to fester without treatment. Also, cats are natural skilled hunters and they decimate the wildlife populations. Feeding them isn’t gonna do shit, they’re still gonna hunt. You’re not supposed to feed ducks as well, you’re hurting them in the long run. This website has more info on why you should keep your cats inside: https://scitechdaily.com/new-research-reveals-why-you-shouldnt-let-your-cat-outside/
Anyways, if you want to get your cat outside enrichment, walk it on a leash and harness like dogs. They can be trained to do that. Or you can build a “catio” in your backyard.

That's why the outside world needs to still be more pet friendly. Government needs to fund more for these kinds of stuff, I understand all of that but at the same time the deworming, obv the need for like I forgot the English word, removing their way to repopulate? Instead all the tax money for helping the world goes to their pockets. Animal fights happens anywhere, specially males who are territorial but there's a solution for that which is that word I forgot. It lessens the cat to be aggressive. Feeding can do something, honestly this depends on your area because in my place there are no other wild lifes and cats don't hunt birds and chickens here. People did the bells things for cats. An outside world is not safe because we make it just too human. Also I'm saying this because I can't even walk my cat cause there's genuinely no sidewalks in my place anymore, there's just roads and canals like u have to thread carefully to go somewhere.
