What do u think about christians

Nrl Nrl 2026-08-18 12:25:50 About question
Recently I attended an lecture about christianity by a korean pastor, he said many things but one thing sticked with me, that is how he described jesus is always with everyone he would lead people to the right path and always help, “ Few years ago in korea there was really old shopping mall the owner wanted to do a big event but people told him to immediately shut down the mall bcs there were cracks appearing in the wall and he didnt care then 1 weeks later building collapsed. You see jesus told us building will collapse by showing us the cracks’ is what he said,
1 or 2 years ago in my country there was gasoline explosion incident happened, killed 8 people and 1 person was firefighter, few months after that incident I bumped into a church recruiter, she told me weird things like “if that firefighter that died were to come to our church and worship god he wouldn’t have died, god would have let him live” and “if dont believe in god you will die and go to hell” and many more things but these 2 things gave me the impression of christians are blindly devoted , hard to reason with or thats just how it is in my country
And ofc i cant judge 2,3 billion people just by few wierd encounters but why push others to live for god , when there is so much to live for why blind devotion isnt it like blind leading blind
All religions are like this but i feel like its mostly christianity has the most devoted followers
* I generally know what christians believe in and im not saying what they believe is wrong
Sorry for grammar mistakes

There's a lot of 'Christians' that hides behind a religion to somehow justify their sinful and judgemental actions. They are not God, or Jesus. They cannot take a person's death so lightly to go as far to say that 'if they wouldve done xxx they would've lived'. I do hope they realise their mistake and apologise to the poor firefighter's grave. Inhumane of them.

The pastor using the cracked building to show how Jesus warns us is kinda silly, as thats just how poorly maintained buildings work?

Anyways, I believe that the reason why Christianity seems the most 'cult-like' or 'crazy blind devoted followers' is because Christianity was a tool used in ancient times to control and dominate a society. (Im speaking generally as i do not hold all the specifics but this is what i have gathered.) Because of this reason, it is reasonable to speculate that the translations of the Bible are not as accurate since the original language was hebrew, aramaic and greek (translation bias towards women perceiving them more as weak and submissive towards their husbands + a particular Leviticus verse that homophobes love to use but is actually a verse against pedophiles 'Men shall not lie with young boys as he does with a woman, for it is an abomination' -notice how it said *young boys*?), and the possibility of queer relationships being burnt in churches.
These posers are not followers of Christ. Just sinners the same brand as all of us who likes to brand themselves holy. I urge you guys to do ur research on this if interested since i dont hold all the specifics as i have just stated. It is also a lot of the reasons why ppl see the Bible as contradictory i believe.

blind devotion is not exclusive to christianity, all religion have people like that. i'd like to think religion as a, 'guideline' of good deeds and that is why religion is a scam. you can have good morals if you have basic common sense

btw i did hear koreans have fanatics, but that just sounds heartless imo

i have nothing against christians in general i respect them like everybody else but i draw the line at when they tell me thing about my sexuality and gender and disrespect me (or the others) for having another belief or just for fascists resaons. when i was in highshool a christian boy told me that "god created adam and eve not adam and jean-patrick" bc im nonbinary and he was mocking me for being who i am, he also was very disrespectful of homosexuality and was constantly saying slurs. on the other hand, one of my friend in the same year was christian, she was a really kind and respectful person, so i dont think the problem with christians comes from their religion but from their education, bc when they are poorly raised and have a fascist mindset they use their religion to justifie why they should not respect you
