My mother found out I’m a lesbian. She’s both angry and heartbroken, and believes that homosexuality is a sin and that her duty as my mother is to “save” me from it so as a result, she’s sending me to conversion therapy and restricting and limiting my life for now, at the same time, she insists that her love for me is unconditional and that she will always love me no matter what. We recently had a conversation where we tried to reach a compromise, even though neither of us was willing to give up what we believe in. My relationship with my family isn’t good, the only person I feel truly connected to is my brother, since we’re both gay and share similar trauma from our parents especially our dead father so he is the only one i can lean on for now. Compliance feels like the best option until things get better, but I’m so exhausted and dejected that I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this
