One of the most common questions we get at our outreach is "Why do abusers target cats?"
We believe that there can be various factors contributing to cat abuse and torture. From cats' independent behaviour, to their association with females, to feline physical attributes - cats become targets from multiple, sometimes unconscious, perspectives.
It is important to understand why cats are singled out for torture, as this isn't "just animal abuse". It is sytematic targeting and victimisation of the feine species, that has implications for the wider society in which abusers operate.
