I asked my girlfriend this and she said its probably because it's one of the most well known universities in Korea (she is Korean) next to SNU (seoul national University) and UOS (University of Seoul). Also Yonsei University. But she said it also could just be that some authors just don't wanna be picky about the type of universities the characters...... reply
to show the prestige of the school? so the character seems smart because they got in a prestigious school ig? similar to how in manhua/danmeis, they always mention Peking and Tsinghua because getting in that school is very main character like reply
