I find it so funny when someone in the animanga community starts screaming 'pathetic westerners' and 'tourists' it's always so corny, especially when they say it with their full chest
I'm saying this now as I am currently reading the manga [Salamanda] comment section on manga plus and it's a somewhat war zone there. I'm keeping up with the series even though I don't even rly like it because the commenters reactions are so entertaining for me.
So the story is about the pink haired girl Manda, being so popular and beautiful that she tries to not mind her appearance and everyone confesses to her daily, but the problem is that every time she gets confessed to, she gets so happy that she instively beats the shit out of the person without meaning to and always regrets it, hence why she tries not to mend her appearance. extremly stupid already.
That's the synopsis given by her childhood friend, love interest and 'mc' Ryoji, who has had a training arc so he could beat Manda, sos he wouldn't have to feel bad. He looses. Then the student pres of their school, Sara shows up, preorders 2 ambulances, starts spewing scientific bs about Manda, says she shouldn't have to hide herself, does a confession and gets his shit rocked by Manda, however Manda seems to really like the guy, who I forgot to add is a massive masochist, and is kind of like the gay loser white haired guy from danganropa? I forgot his name and never played danganronpa but they seem really similar.
The war zone is that commenters are mad that Ryoji is actively getting cucked by Sara ig and that they were betrayed by the author who tricked, fooled and betrayed them into thinking Ryoji was the love interest by introducing the guy first (nothing is clarified in the series btw as I forgot to add Manda has had not one full sentenced spoken, she actually said her first letter in the recent chapter and it isnt stated who the main love interest/endgame/mc even is)
vs the other side who likes the switch up and diverge from expectatios taking the whole the moral highground and calling the other side immature, stupid, westerners, kiddos etc etc when both sides sound stupid to me imo.
Tl;dr no one cares for the series, only who they want Manda to be with and getting pissy about it, sorry for talking your ear off, this is how entertained I am by this series (comments) which I have many issues with such as the millionth sexualisation of the highschool girl character.

I tried to sum it up but honestly it's hard to even explain what this manga is trying to do, the best thing to do is not take anything seriously and enjoy the ride ig, but like I keep repeating, to me the story itself is mediocre, the only saving grace is how entertaining it is to watch wtv is wrong with Sara and the artsyle. Honestly I've seen this trope of 'girl who loves too much that she gets violent eek!' That im not amused by that

It is def hot garbage, which is why I'm mad, I could give a full run through of the story by memory, The fan discourse rly is so fun though, it's like looking at 2 clowns trying to argue who's the bigger fool.
